Kisspeptin is Testosterone independent regulator of Sexual Motivation in Male Rats

Kisspeptin is the peptide product of KISS-1 gene and endogenous agonist for Kiss1 receptor. It well known that kisspeptin acts centrally, stimulates secretion gonadoliberin (GnRH). Further, also interacts with other neuropeptides such as neurokinin B dynorphin to regulate GnRH pulse generation plays a key role in sexual behavior. This study aimed evaluate effect on male rats' motivation its dependence testosterone levels. In this total 50 copulation naive Wistar rats were collected divided into 5 groups (10 each group), among these first group received only saline (control), second has been given 20?g buserelin acetate (GnRH analogue), third intranasally kisspeptin-10 (3ng), fourth intraperitoneally (30ng) fifth Yoquimbine 200 µg. Behavioral effects registered open-field reward-proximity chamber female estrous phase cycle over transparent perforated wall 10 minutes red light. Blood samples from tail vein after 30 substance administration blood samples, concentration was measured by ELISA method. All animal compared ANOVA test correspondent “post hoc” paired tests Newman–Kruskall– Wallis Dunn’s test. Intranasal increased but did not affect rats. intraperitoneal Kisspeptin-10 enhances motivation. While intranasal didn’t enhance level Results showed some along independent regulation steroids.
